CORDELIA CULVER     OWNER + EXECUTIVE CHEF

"It's gonna be great!"

Growing up in Santa Monica, Cordelia took an interest in cooking from a young age.  She spent school holidays traveling the world, visiting east and west Europe, India, China, Japan, Egypt, and east Africa among other places. Amidst these travels her palate was memorizing all of the unique flavors and characteristics of these places, and today she loves using ingredients and techniques from around the world in her cooking.

Cordelia spent her 20’s in the film business, then took a leap of faith and enrolled in culinary school.  After completing at the top of her class, she cooked at Gramercy Tavern in NY, then returned to Los Angeles in 2007 to form her catering company, formerly called Chef Cordelia.

When not in the kitchen you can find Cordelia day-tripping around SoCal with her husband Gustavo, boys Theo and Louie, and dogs Taco and Pepper.

VALERIE WARE     DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

“I love food, and I love people. All of my favorite experiences involve both.”

Valerie Ware has been on the inside of the LA catering scene for years – having worked as a server, event manager, staffing coordinator, and now as queen of all she surveys.  We couldn’t get through the day without Valerie’s organization, good cheer, and eagerness to taste all that springs forth from our kitchen.  Outside of work her passion is world travel, and you can find her most every August at Burning Man, unplugging from life with her husband Justin.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Since 2009 we've continued a tradition of community service at the Holidays.  Each year at Thanksgiving we invite volunteers into our kitchen to help prepare over 250 Thanksgiving meals for the homeless, which are then served at the OPCC Annenberg Access Center in Santa Monica.

Then in the week between Christmas and New Years Eve we come together again for our Tamales For The Homeless campaign, where we fundraise and gather to make hundreds of hearty and nutritious tamales, which are then distributed to homeless people living on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.

200 GUESTS. 3 EVENTS. NO SWEAT

“We hosted an outdoor wedding with 200 guests. It was an extensive affair- more like a movie production than a wedding in many ways. We planned many layers of catering for the night, including a special welcome cocktail and appetizers before the ceremony, the amazing dinner, and a late night munchie service. In the years following our wedding so many of our guests have said it was the best food they have had at a wedding - ever. Chef Cordelia made us feel special on our wedding day and she made the event custom tailored to us."

EVENT PLANNER'S SECRET WEAPON

"Chef Cordelia is amazing. We've used her services for all our venues and events and it has been flawless every time. She works well with clients needs and her food is delicious. I highly recommend Chef Cordelia for catering small to large scale events."

A FAMILY TRADITION

“I have hired Cordelia for many events over the years. She and her staff have catered my bridal shower, my baby shower, my daughter's 3rd and 4th birthday parties, my 29th, 32nd, 35th, 36th and 39th birthday parties, a 4th of July party, a Halloween party...the list goes on and on. Her attention to food trends and decor/detail is unparalleled. She always has fresh new ideas and fun new ways of plating food. She has the ability to completely staff the party so I can just sit back and play hostess for the evening! She has diligently worked with me on my budget, making sure I am comfortable and happy. Chef Cordelia and her staff are like a part of my family now. Not only do we look forward to her food, but we look forward to seeing her year after year!”
