Who We Are

Chef Cordelia Culver is the force behind CORDELIA CATERING, and her passion for creating memorable food and experiences drives everything we do.  Since 2007 we have been catering events in Los Angeles and beyond.  From swanky cocktail parties, through formal plated dinners, to rustic picnics in the wild, we will make your celebration delicious.

Growing up in Santa Monica, Cordelia took an interest in cooking from a young age.  She spent school holidays traveling the world, visiting east and west Europe, India, China, Japan, Egypt, and east Africa among other places. Amidst these travels her palate was memorizing all of the unique flavors and characteristics of these places, and today she loves using ingredients and techniques from around the world in her cooking.

Cordelia spent her 20s in the film business, then took a leap of faith and enrolled in culinary school.  After completing at the top of her class, she cooked at Gramercy Tavern in NY, then returned to Los Angeles in 2007 to form her catering company, formerly called Chef Cordelia.

When not in the kitchen you can find Cordelia day-tripping around SoCal with her husband Gustavo, boys Theo and Louie, and dogs Taco and Pepper.

Valerie Ware has been on the inside of the LA catering scene for years – having worked as a server, event manager, staffing coordinator, and now as queen of all she surveys.  We couldn’t get through the day without Valerie’s organization, good cheer, and eagerness to taste all that springs forth from our kitchen.  Outside of work her passion is world travel, and you can find her most every August at Burning Man, unplugging from life with her husband Justin.

Cordelia collects fellow hard working food crazies like Saint Francis collected woodland creatures. 


Since 2009 we've continued a tradition of community service at the Holidays.  Each year at Thanksgiving we invite volunteers into our kitchen to help prepare over 250 Thanksgiving meals for the homeless, which are then served at the OPCC Annenberg Access Center in Santa Monica.  

In the week between Christmas and New Years Eve we come together again to make hundred of hearty and nutritious tamales, which are then distributed to homeless people living on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
